Location: 209 Hawk Hill Road, West Union, Ohio.
The 130 acre Chaparral Prairie is a glimpse into the past prairies which used to cover the midwest. The area is dominated by sporadic Post and Blackjack Oaks and covered with prairie featuring rare species like Prairie Dock, Blazing Star, False Prairie Indigo, Spider Milkweed, as well as one of the largest populations of Rattlesnake Master in the state, among other species. The butterflies in August are amazing.
