The second edition of the ODNR Wildflower Bloom Report is out and this week things are really taking off. This report comes out every week through the spring wildflower parade. It is published by the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of State Nature Preserves and highlights what is in bloom around the state each week. Also make sure to read the one from last week.
This week features more spectacular species including Bloodroot, Hepatica, and Trout Lilies.
I must remind you that all of these species are protected and interfering with some are even punishable by law with stiff penalties. Please respect our treasures and take nothing but pictures. Even picking them can kill them and most do not transplant well anyway and rely on the soil and conditions that they grow in. Also try to stay on the trails as nearby you may be trampling on next weeks bloom.
