Triangle Lake Bog State Nature Preserve is located near Ravenna, Ohio on Sandy Lake Road. It is a kettle bog which was formed when a large chunk of ice splashed into the mud from a receding glacier over 12,000 years ago. The lake at the center is 35 feet deep and is surrounded by a sphagnum moss floating mat which hosts a variety of rare species of plants. Growing here are carnivorous Pitcher Plants and Sundew, as well as Tamarack Pines, Highbush Blueberries, Poison Sumac, two different types of Cranberries, and Black Huckleberry among others. A short trail with a boardwalk meanders through the bog and features an overlook of the lake.
