After hiking at Brandywine Falls, I finished out my first day at Cuyahoga Valley National Park with a hike to Blue Hen Falls.

The parking area is right along the Cuyahoga River across Riverview Road from the Boston Mill Visitor Center.
The Boston Mill Visitor Center.
You cross Boston Mills Road to begin the hike to Blue Hen Falls.
The trail has a moderate ascent at the beginning.
The light blue blazes mark the larger Buckeye Trail.
Still climbing.
At the top of the climb you come to a park maintenance garage.
The trail continues along the road for a short bit.
Then crosses the road and into the woods again.
It’s not far from the road when you come to a bridge over a creek.
Notice the rock which makes up this creek bed.
The Buckeye Trail peels off to the left, but the falls is straight.
Not far from the bridge is the falls.
Notice the two distinct layers of rock. The cap rock is harder than the lower layers which creates a recess cave below the falls.
Blue Hen Falls.
Wide angle shot.
Blue Hen Falls from the front.
Heading back past the maintenance center. The road is steep and subject to rock slides.
Got a little muddy.
