Shoemaker State Nature Preserve is a small 22 acre park near Peebles, Ohio. It only has one trail which is a short 1.5 mile lollipop loop. However small isn’t always insignificant. The loop part of the trail enters a small dolomite gorge with two arches and also which has 7 rare species of plants, including an endangered species, the Heart Leaved Plantain. Being fall, I didn’t really get to see many plants, however it was still a good short hike. I will have to return in the spring and summer.
