I absolutely love this park. It is minutes from my home, the woods are peaceful, and the trails are wide. You can usually run into some wild turkeys, or catch a glimpse of a black or white squirrel. Today, I just wanted to do a local walk in the woods. I started at the Ranger Station Picnic Area and walked west to the Overlook Trail. I took the Overlook Trail to the Ripple Rock Trail, then took a left on the Hickory Ridge Trail toward the Nature Center. Once at the Nature Center, I walked the Lake Trail to the Observation Decks overlooking Thoreau Pond, then back to the Nature Center. I hiked back down the Hickory Ridge Trail to the Brookside Trail, and ended back at my car.
I didn’t take any pictures on this hike. However there are other posts of this park.
