Location: North side of SR 79 at the Newark/Heath, Ohio border.
Great Circle Earthworks is part of one of the largest earthworks built in Ohio. It is a nearly perfect circle, 1200 feet in diameter, 14 feet high, with a 13 foot moat. The circle is part of a larger complex of mounds in Newark, Ohio, most of which has been destroyed by “progress” in building the city. The web links below provide links to the main site as well as the larger Newark Earthworks site.
