Location: Southeast of Hillsboro, Ohio at 13614 Fort Hill Rd.
Fort Hill Earthworks & Nature Preserve encompasses 1300 acres of land in Highland County, Ohio and features several miles of trails, picnic areas, a museum, incredible gorge, and a very large earthen hilltop fort surrounded by a 1.5 mile earthen mound. There is also a small circular mound there. The terrain is hilly and challenging but rewards abound, aside from the mound, are incredible cliffs, deep ravines, mature trees, and lots of rare and some endangered wildflowers.
