Location: Between Marion and Bucyrus, Ohio at 700 Marion-Melmore Road.
Daughmer Prairie Savannah State Nature Preserve is a remnant of a vast 200,000 acre prairie known as the Sandusky Prairie. It is quite amazing and is mostly prairie grassland but is spotted with many very large Burr Oak trees. In fact, they seem to be the only trees growing here. There is only a short system of trails mowed through the prairie, but it give you a nice up close look at the amazing trees here. You have to see this place.
