Dinner on the Docks at Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grill

4/29/2024

Doc Ford’s Rum Bar & Grill is a restaurant in Fort Myers Beach, Florida, situated on the docks of Fisherman’s Wharf in the Mantanzas Harbor. The area is a big docking place for commercial fishing vessels and luxury yachts alike. There is a great view of the harbor and sea birds can be seen on the docks as you eat (we didn’t have any issues with them getting too close). It is located at 708 Fisherman’s Wharf, Fort Myers Beach, FL 33931. The restaurant is named after the famed main character of Randy Wayne Right’s 27 novel series. The author also created the restaurant.

The cuisine is primarily seafood, with a Caribbean flare, however they also have more “turf” options available as well. The food is delicious and we highly recommend visiting this place for dinner. The dress is casual, as are most of the restaurants along the beach. It is a little difficult to get down to the restaurant as it is located under the causeway. Follow Google Maps(link) and it will take you right there. They have plenty of seating inside and out. They have lots of free parking as well right at the restaurant and they even had a live acoustic act playing when we were there.
