New River Gorge National Park and Preserve is the newest National Park(2020) and is one of the oldest river valley’s in the world. It covers nearly 73,000 acres and stretches for 53 miles along the river. The gorge is 1400 feet deep and has some amazing cliffs, rapids, hiking trails, rock climbing, and primitive camping. The area is also home to many diverse species of plants and animals including dozens of rare and endangered species. Wes and I spent several days here camping and hiking. This place is sweet.
