Situated on 136 protected acres on the Marblehead peninsula in an old quarry is Lakeside Daisy State Nature Preserve. The park protects one of the only populations of Lakeside Daisy’s anywhere else. It is an endangered species and prefers the barren limestone habitat which is typical of this location. The flowers bloom in May and I was too late for those (I will be back), but it was interesting to see this location and there were other things to see as well.
