Gahanna Woods is part State Nature Preserve and part city park managed by the Gahanna Parks and Recreation. It located just south of Haven’s Corners Road off of Taylor Station Road. South of the parking area is the State Nature Preserve which is primarily dominated by swamp with trails through the higher parts and several long boardwalks. Lots of wildlife and wildflowers throughout.

I began my hike in the State Nature Preserve. The trees are leaving out nicely and the floor is covered with green of various wildflowers.
Less common Waterleaf getting ready to bloom. The more common Virginia Waterleaf is found everywhere in central Ohio woods and has a distinct variegation in the center of it’s leaf.
Nesting goose in the swamp.
Large Flowered Trillium.
Better shot of the forest floor with various species of plants.
Bulbous Cress.
Jacob’s Ladder
Invasive Honey Suckle. Fortunately I’m out of the State Nature Preserve now.
You can see how that honeysuckle is taking over the understory.
Wild Apple
