On Black Friday I was checking out Salt Fork State Park online and just happened to look at their cabins and noticed they were having a Black Friday Sale on reservations. I was able to book two nights Friday and Saturday for 30% off. I had heard that this park was nice and that it was the largest State Park in Ohio. Looking at the trail maps, it looked like there were plenty of trails to hike as well.

To get to Salt Fork State Park from Columbus, I took Interstate 70 East to Interstate 77 North about 70 miles, then a few miles to US Route 22 East. The main park entrance is about 6 miles from Interstate 77.
You must check-in at the Lodge first to get your keys and the cabins are a short drive from there.
There are three types of cabins to choose from: Hillside, Lakefront, and Chalet. I stayed in the Hillside version, but they are all along the lake with beautiful scenery. The Chalet’s are a little bigger than the other two options. My cabin had a screened porch, living room, satellite tv, full kitchen with fridge, microwave, and coffee maker, full bathroom with shower, and two bedrooms, one with a queen bed and the other with two sets of bunk beds, central air and heating. Outside there was a picnic table and a fire ring. You could even arrange to have firewood delivered. There were two reserved parking spots as well. I also seemed to have good cell phone coverage there as well. There is also a boat ramp which is supposed to be reserved for cabin residents and a golf course nearby as well. There is also a good sized camp ground at the park as well. I may try that out next summer when it warms back up.
