20191109 – Cuyahoga Valley National Park – Viaduct Park

Date: 11/09/2019 – Distance: 1.0 mi – Elapsed Time: 0.75 hr – Ascent: 184 ft – Descent: 157 ft – Difficulty: Easy

While I was still in the Bedford Reservation, I wanted to see this park. I knew there was a waterfall here and that there was also a place where the river flowed through a tunnel through the gorge which was filled in. There was a lot going on in this little gorge.

On top of the viaduct, there is an old retired stone trestle. The railroad is still active but isn’t using this old trestle anymore.

The trail is just a short one, only about a quarter mile to the falls.

Great Falls at Tinker’s Creek

The viaduct is just downstream of the falls.

Above the falls there is remnants of an old dam and Grist Mill.

Remnants of the Mill Pond Dam

Below the dam there is also remnants of an old Saw Mill.
