I first wrote about coming to Hocking Hills, in southeastern Ohio, in the beginning of July when a buddy of mine did a 6 mile hike from Old Man’s Cave to Cedar Falls and back. I also wrote about it a week ago when I was here camping the first time. I wanted to spend more time in this amazing place.
There are tons of trails surrounding the state park campground. What I found was that it was booked for reservations well a month and a half in advance. I noticed they had 23 electric sites that were designated as walk-up. These can only be reserved in person and you have to pay from the time you show up, until you checkout.
Last weekend, I managed to get one on Thursday evening. This weekend is a holiday, so i wanted to get here early. I came down Tuesday after work, reserved through Sunday night. $180.
Now it’s Thursday. It’s going to be a great weekend.
